February 21, 2018 --Linda Strohl, Exec. Dir., Senior Nutrition Services, Meals on Wheels, discusses their role in southwestern Michigan and the services they provide which have far-reaching benefits for a wide variety of citizens -- especially senior citizens. October 5, 2017 -- Hon. Charles T. LaSata, Presiding Judge, Berrien County, Michigan, leads a public forum on "Specialty Courts in Berrien County--Healing Victims and Offenders." The forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Berrien and Cass Counties (LWVBCC).

Berrien County has four specialty courts -- Drug Treatment Court, Drug Court, Domestic Violence Court, and "Swift and Sure." For the past three years, Judge LaSata has presided over all four. See video at

March 17, 2017 -- Carl Macpherson, new Public Defender in Berrien County, Michigan, describes his background, the birth of his organization and how it fits with our local judicial system.

October 20, 2016 -- Marcy Hamilton of the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission details the southwest Michigan watershed and how all residents are a part of it and "downstream" no matter where they live.

April 29, 2016 -- John Rappaport, Law Professor, University of Chicago, spoke to us on the United States Supreme Court -- Who the members are, What they do, How they got there, and Why it matters. You can see his presentation here:

October 1, 2015 -- Elvin Gonzalez, Berrien County, Michigan, Oct. 19, 2015. Mr. Gonzalez speaks to the League of Women Voters of Berrien & Cass Counties on "Breaking the School to Prison Pipeline" followed by a Q & A session. Mr Gonzales is Family Division Administrator of Berrien County, Michigan, Trial Court. Here is the video of that meeting:

January 19, 2015 "Lunch with the League" District 78 Representative Dave Pagel spoke on liquor, wine and beer distribution in Michigan. Watch the video.
